It's been British Sausage week and so the butchers have been cooking lots of sizzling samples for customers to try in the Farm Shop - it's interesting that this really does help sales. As usual we will be stocking Organic Bronze Turkeys, Ducks, Chickens and Guineafowl from the Nelless family at Thistleyhaugh Farm near Rothbury . If you'd like a goose, Judith Dryden will be supplying these again, and she also does Kelly bronze turkeys & crown roasts.
Many of you prefer beef or pork for Christmas and everyone needs a gammon to roast for the festive season. Please print off our Christmas Meats Order Form ready to discuss with our helpful team on your next visit to the shop. We also have an order form for our homemade chutneys, puddings and pies - we can cut down the work involved in your festive preparations, large or small. If you aren't coming up to the shop in the next week or 2 please do Email the Butchers and they'll reply with a form that you can complete and email back to them. We really are offering a one-stop Festive Shop where you can leave us a list of everything from your turkey to your trimmings and even your Christmas mince and mincemeat and we will have it all packed and ready for you. We'll be making our usual range of sausages, sausagemeats, chiplolatas, pigs in blankets, stuffings and bacon. This year we are extending our service to include orders for Christmas vegetables, dairy products and puddings to try and make your life even easier, and don't let worries about the weather put you off, we'll make sure that the road is clear or will meet you somewhere safe.
