May Recipe Broom House Farm Meatballs

INGREDIENTS

  • 200g sausagemeat
  • 500g minced beef
  • 500g minced pork
  • 2 handfuls breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoons oregano
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon parsley

 for the sauce

  • 1 spoon olive oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 tin tomatoes
  • handful basil
  • 1 mozzarella
  • 1 spoon Parmesan

METHOD 

To make your tomato sauce, fry the onion and in a little oil. Add the tomatoes, rip in the basil leaves, season, and gently simmer for half an hour.

 

Meanwhile preheat the oven to 200'  C.

 

Mix together bread crumbs, oregano, parsley, sausagemeat and mince and season with pepper.

 

Roll and pat into meatballs. Brown the meatballs in a frying pan with a little oil,

rolling them carefully so they do not break.

 

Transfer to an ovenproof dish and pour the sauce over the meatballs.  Put in the oven for 15 minutes

 

Tear up the mozzarella and throw it on top with the parmesan for 5 mins until the cheese is golden.

 

Serve with pasta, we like tagliatelli
